Rachael Burton is a Psychologist with 9 years experience and enjoys working with a vast array of people who live with problems associated with Depression, Anxiety, Addictions, Personality Disorders and Trauma. She has an eclectic non-judgemental approach to therapy and uses a relational psychotherapeutic approach along with skills based therapies such as Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Mindfulness, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Schema Therapy, depending on the needs of the individual. Rachael offers a supportive environment in which she operates according to the belief that an individual can achieve meaningful changes in their lives with validation, understanding and insight.
Rachael has completed over 9 years of formal education. Upon completing a four year undergraduate degree, Rachael undertook two years of postgraduate training. This involved training in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of mental health and psychological problems across all age ranges and education in the research basis of the profession. Rachael submitted a significant research project in psychology and has a thorough understanding of the ethics and the legalities involved with therapeutic treatment. To broaden her understanding of the human aspect of the profession, Rachael conducted a psychoanalytic enquiry into the subject of gender which awarded her a Master’s degree in Philosophy Research.
